Escapadelas de Fim de Semana - Polónia Parte #2 // Weekend getaways - Poland Part #2

Visita a Auschwitz // Visit to Auschwitz

Auschewitz I
Memorável também foi a nossa guia. Tivemos azar pronto!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the second day of our visit to Poland, it all started with my purchase of a pair of sneakers because I could not stand the boots I have chosen to take. Do not quite understand why, but what is certain is that had 2 huge blisters on your feet and I'm glad I ran to buy them since the tour to Auschwitz makes you walk a lot.

By 9.30 am  the van was at the hotel to pick us up and to take us to the concentration camps.

The visit was very interesting and quite memorable. Lasts almost all day because it takes indeed about 1 hour and a half to get there.

Memorable was also our guide. We had really bad luck! I heard more times "due to conditions in the camp" within 2 hours which I thought it was possible to hear in my life -.- "and more serious! In writing is not well reproducible but instead of saying" conditions" she said repeatedly  "con-ditions "so imagine. Among other things ... What is certain is that it is worth to go there but I hope you have a better guide our :).

The visit is the way the two concentration camps: Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau. The first is located in the museum where you can see the conditions and belongings that have managed to preserve that time. In the second, much more "raw" and low in terms of conditions, we visited some of the facilities still standing that were used as accommodation and bathroom.

After the visit to Auschwitz was time to go and visit a little the city center!
We visited the center and the cathedral and I was sorry not to have time for more. The old town is very beautiful and has so much potential for things to visit :). Is for a next!

Dinner was divine and again, for what we ate was super cheap :).
The next day it was time to head to Wroclaw (3 hours away!) In a super comfortable bus (ticket cost ~ € 7).
Wroclaw is not nearly as touristy as Krakow but also has a lovely :) historic center (the little we have seen ... since there was no time to once again we had to take the bus to the airport).
