5- O curso de norueguês é muito complicado? O que acontece se não passarem nos testes de nível?
R: Complicado? Sem duvida nenhuma. Impossivel? Nem por sombras. Mas tambem tenho a informação que agora pedem o B2 por isso vai ser mais complicado. O B1 foi mais puxado mas com o ordenado que eles pagavam tinhamos a obrigação de “trabalhar” todos os dias.
C: Sei de 2 pessoas que foram selecionadas para o novo grupo de recrutamento e é por isso que sabemos que pedem o B2 agora. E tenho a dizer “OMG!”. Como o Ricardo disse, acho que o que foi mais complicado (a dificuldade foi aumentando gradualmente mas a sensação que tive é que foi um salto enorme do A2 para o B1). No entanto, ter uma tutora sempre presente ajudou bastante. E OBVIO que a receber ordenado para estudar tens uma motivação e obrigação muito maior para te esforçares. Vejo isso claramente quando comparo a outros colegas nossos que não tínham a “pressão” de acabar os níveis no timing que a empresa queria.
Se não passarmos nos teste de nível? Bem a ideia deles é que nós passemos logo, avisaram desde o início que se nos sentissemos aflitos podiamos pedir uns dias extra (essa parte não é assim tãooo verdadeira mas em última análise se tiveres de pedir uma extensão do prazo podes pedir e pronto).
6- Com o Norueguês que aprenderam, conseguem comunicar com os colegas na farmácia e com os utentes?
R: Posso dizer que o Input funciona, mas quando chega a nossa vez de comunicar torna-se mais complicado. Mas posso dizer que após 3 semanas a trabalhar estou bastante melhor a um nivel em que faço bastantes atendimentos sozinho, sem grandes problemas.
C: Concordo com o que o Ricardo disse. Mas acho que o B2 vai tornar as coisas simultaneamente mais fáceis e mais dificeis. Mais fáceis porque de certeza que um nível mais elevado da língua é sempre vantajoso para a comunicação; mais dificil por várias razões: mais complicado acabar o curso de língua, mais tempo necessário para o fazer e mais tempo em Portugal sem praticar a língua no dia a dia (que é uma das coisas essenciais para começares a realmente a falar XD).
7- Os salários compensam? Sei que são razoáveis (não tenho noção exacta dos valores para farmacêuticos) mas também sei que a vida na Noruega é muito cara (pelo que li no vosso blog, caro é eufemismo!), é possível fazerem a vossa vida e amealhar algum dinheiro?
R: Também tivemos esse pensamento quando estávamos a analisar a proposta. Os valores para farmacêuticos de primeiro ano estão a rondar 434mil NOK (50mil Euros), e as coisas do dia aqui são bastante mais caras, mais do dobro do que custariam em Portugal. Mas em comparação com o ordenado, sempre pensámos que ficaríamos a ganhar. Claro que ainda não podemos falar sobre isso com conhecimento de causa visto que ainda não caiu nenhum ordenado na mão.
C: Ora pois.. a ideia de virmos para aqui foi poder trabalhar como farmacêuticos (do pouco tempo que cá estou, sinto-me muito mais farmacêutica e mais valorizada pelos utentes do que em Portugal) e ganhar um ordenado bom e poder fazer uma vida que não fazíamos em Portugal em termos de conseguir viver bem e amealhar algum. As coisas realmente são mais caras e acho que no início não consegues responder a essa pergunta assim tão facilmente: tens muitas coisas a comprar e locais onde gastar dinheiro (que depois acabas por já não gastar noutros meses). E saber “como, quando e onde” fazer compras é crucial para poupares umas coroas. Mas a minha esperança é ter dinheiro para conseguir passear um pouco também :P.
Claro que também depende do tipo de vida que queres fazer, aqui o que é mesmo mesmo caro é a vida fora. Se vieres para cá e tentares fazer uma vida que é fácil de fazer em Portugal, com jantares e almoço em restaurantes, cafés fora e ir para os copos frequentemente, não vai ser fácil poupar dinheiro.
8- Que possibilidades terão de vir a Portugal? Apenas nas férias? (sei que as viagens são longas, com escalas, caras)
R: Ficámos relativamente perto do aeroporto de Torp, que é o aeroporto Low cost que serve Oslo (Ryanair, Wizzair), mas não temos ligação directa para Portugal. Temos 5 semanas de férias, por isso fica ao nosso critério. Viagens de fim de semana? Não é facil, principalmente porque daqui para o aeroporto são 3 horas (Para o aeroporto principal que tem ligações directas para Lisboa pela TAP) e 300 NOK (de comboio para esse aeroporto) mais 4 horas de voo mais tempo de espera,acaba por não sobrar muito tempo.
C: Não tenho muito mais a dizer nesta questão. Se começarem a haver voos para Lisboa a partir do aeroporto de Torp (que fica apenas a uma hora de distância) tudo muito bem. Porque senão, viagens de fim de semana tornam-se caras e pouco proveitosas. Mas é questão de procurarmos viagens! Coisa que aina não tive tempo para me dedicar. Chegámos agora em Novembro e pelas nossas contas, para já, já estamos a contar conseguir ir a Portugal na Páscoa e em Junho pois temos um casamento de uma prima minha. Só o facto de ainda nem estar há um mês a trabalhar e já te permitirem pensar em férias é óptimo para mim e uma excelente atitude por parte da farmácia na minha opinião :). Podiam perfeitamente dizer que só podíamos tirar férias ao fim de 6 meses. De qualquer das maneiras, infeliz ou felizmente, se quisermos fazer viagens de fim de semana (coisa que estou a pensar fazer quando tivermos dinheiro para isso, teremos de nos limitar aos destinos que saem do aeroporto de Torp!!

9- Estão arrependidos da decisão que tomaram ou voltariam a ir se estivessem na fase de entrevistas? (sabendo o que sabem hoje)
R: Acho que é muito muito cedo para podermos fazer essa retrospectiva, ate agora tem estado a correr tudo bem, e mesmo que daqui até acabar de cumprir o “periodo de fidelização” alguma coisa corra mal, saímos daqui mais ricos em todos os aspectos: Experiência de vida, Dinheiro, Nova linguagem e provavelmente novos horizontes.
C: Até agora não me arrependo de nada. Concordo com o que o Ricardo disse e, para o bem ou para o mal, ficamos aqui pelo menos um ano. Mas acredito que, se as coisas continuarem como estão a correr agora de início, ficaremos mais tempo que isso. Não me arrependo, até agora de nada! E depois de ver como as farmácias aqui funcionam, dificilmente volto para Portugal para trabalhar numa farmácia comunitária. Mas o futuro nunca se sabe :).

5- The Norwegian course is too complicated? What happens if you do not pass the level tests?
R : Complicated? Without any doubt. Impossible? Not at all. But we have the information that the company is now asking for the B2 so it will be more complicated than it was with us. The B1 was very hard but with the salary they paid we had the obligation to "work" on it every day.
C: I know of 2 pharmacists who were selected for the new group of recruitment and that's why we know that the B2 is asked now. And I have to say "OMG!". As Richard said, I think that the difficulty increased level by level (difficulty was gradually increasing but the feeling I had was that it was a huge leap from A2 to B1). However, having a tutor always present helped. Obviously when someone is paying you to study, you feel much more motivate and obviously the obligation to fulfill what is expected. I see this clearly when I compare to other colleagues who did not have the "pressure" to end the levels in the timing our company wanted.
If you do not pass the exam? Well the idea of them is that we must pass soon, and we were warned from the beginning that we could have asked for extra days (that part is not so sooo true but ultimately if you have to ask for an extension of time you can ask).
6- With the Norwegian level you have learned, are you able to communicate with your colleagues at the pharmacy and with the costumers?
R: I can say that the Input works, but when it comes our turn to communicate becomes much more complicated. But I can say that after three weeks working here I'm feeling much better at a level where I can do enough alone, without major problems.
C: I agree with what Richard said. But I think the need of the B2 will make things both easier and more difficult. Easier because for sure that a higher level of language is always advantageous for communication; more difficult for several reasons: more complicated to finish the language course, more time to do and more time in Portugal without practicing the language in everyday life (which is one of the essential things in order to start really talking norwegian XD).

7- Salaries are worth? I know they are "reasonable" (I do not have exact notion of values for pharmacists) but I also know that life in Norway is very expensive (from what I read in your blog, expensive is understatement!), You can make your life and gathering some money?
R: We also had this thought when we were considering the offer. The values for the first year of pharmacists are of around NOK 434mil (50 thousand Euros), and the things of the day here are much more expensive, more than double than buying in Portugal. But compared to the salary, we always thought it was a win win situation. Of course we can not talk about it with better knowledge as it has not fallen any salary in our hands.
C: Well then .. the idea to come here was to work as pharmacists (the short time that I'm here, I feel much more pharmacist and valued by costumers than in Portugal) and to earn a good salary and to have a life that we didn't expected to have in Portugal in terms of getting to live well and gathering some.
Things are really more expensive and I think in the beginning you can not answer this question so easily: you have many things to buy and places to spend money (later you end up no longer spend in other months). And "how, when and where" to do shopping is crucial for sparing some crowns. But my hope is to have money to travel a bit too: P.
Of course it also depends on the kind of life you want to do here. What is really really expensive is life outside. If you come here and try to live as you do in Portugal, with dinner and lunch in restaurants, cafés outside and to have a drink often, will not be easy to save money.
8- What possibilities will you have to come to Portugal? Only in the holidays? (I know that the trips are long, with stops, expensive..)
R: We were relatively close to the Torp airport, which is one of the Oslo's low-cost airports (Ryanair, Wizzair), but we have no direct connection to Portugal. We have five weeks of vacation, so is at our discretion. Travel weekend? It is not easy, mainly because from here to the airport is 3 hours (For the main airport that has direct connections to Lisbon by TAP) and 300 NOK (train for that airport) 4 more flight hours more standby time, turns out not remain long.
C: I do not have much more to say on this issue. If it starts having flights to Lisbon from the Torp airport (which is just an hour away) all too well. Because otherwise, weekend trips become expensive and less profitable. But it is a matter of seeking travels! Something I did not have time to devote myself yet.
We are now in December and for our accounts, for now, we are counting to go to Portugal at Easter and in June because we have a wedding of a cousin of mine.
Only the fact that is not even passed a month and have already been asked about my vacations is great for me and a great attitude on the part of the pharmacy in my opinion :).
Either way, unfortunate or fortunately, if we want to make weekend trips (a thing I'm thinking of doing when we have money for it, we have to limit ourselves to destinations that come out of the Torp airport !!

9 Have you regrets about the decision you have have taken? (knowing what they know now)
R: I find it very very early to make this retrospective, so far has been running fine, and even from here to end to meet the "loyalty period" something goes wrong, we leave here richer in all aspects: Experience life, Money, New language and probably new horizons.
C: So far I do not regret anything. I agree with what Richard said and, for good or ill, we here at least a year. But I believe that if things continue as they are now running start, we will be longer than that. I have no regrets so far ! And after seeing how pharmacies here work, I hardly go back to Portugal to work in a pharmacy. But the future you never know :).
